This session is for Middle School Science and Social Studies teachers to learn how to use Formative to administer the upcoming benchmark assessments in November. *Required for all Middle School Science and Social Studies teachers.
For 4th-8th grade teachers; If you have never been trained on how to teach Expository/Informative writing using Step Up To Writing , or if it has been awhile and you need a refresher, this workshop is for you. We will cover the very basics of Expository/Informative Writing (I Chart, Colors, Topic Sentences, Transitions, Big Ideas, Elaborating, and Conclusions.) We will also explore some of the little known strategies yet to be discovered in the SUTW binder as well as how to integrate this process with any curricular area; especially Science and Social Studies.
A deeper dive into a STEM Case Studies in a modeled lesson and reflect on the role of the teacher during the experience. Become familiar with the student results heatmap and learn how to effectively monitor student progress and facilitate student learning throughout the process. TWIG science reps will be on site from 1:30-4:30 to provide training for the Science Pilot. LT,LO,CH will receive all materials while MU and AV will receive printed TE's and Online access. All are welcome to attend the training.
