This session is for Middle School Science and Social Studies teachers to learn how to use Formative to administer the upcoming benchmark assessments in November. *Required for all Middle School Science and Social Studies teachers.
For 4th-8th grade teachers; If you have never been trained on how to teach Expository/Informative writing using Step Up To Writing , or if it has been awhile and you need a refresher, this workshop is for you. We will cover the very basics of Expository/Informative Writing (I Chart, Colors, Topic Sentences, Transitions, Big Ideas, Elaborating, and Conclusions.) We will also explore some of the little known strategies yet to be discovered in the SUTW binder as well as how to integrate this process with any curricular area; especially Science and Social Studies.
Participants will explore ways to seamlessly integrate social studies into the ELA block. Please bring a charged device with you along with the current TE/Lesson plans for both Benchmark Advance and the Studies Weekly publication you are using.
